Master of Health Administration Program

Program Information
The mission of the Master of Health Administration Program is to prepare
the graduate for a career as senior administrators or policy analyst
in wide variety of health service organizations. Located in the College
of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center
in Oklahoma City, the program is offered by the Department of Health
Administration and Policy. The program consists of 60 credit hours
and is designed to be completed in two or three years. The curriculum
is divided into three components. The first is a sequence of courses
that provides the foundation for the study of health services administration
and the second set of courses focus on the core functions of the administrator.
When combined with one of the core courses, the elective sequence
of 6 credit hours enables the student to develop an area of concentration
or specialization. The curriculum is offered by departmental faculty,
faculty assigned to the College of Public Health and senior administrators
of health organizations located in the city. The program also requires
an internship that enables the student to integrate and apply didactic
training in a health service organization. The internship normally
occurs after the student has completed one-half or thirty semester
hours of course work. Following graduation, the Program arranges a
fellowship for those with little or no experience in health administration.
